Capitol Letters Writing Center believes that within every student lives a brilliant writer. We support and challenge those writers through workshops, tutoring, and student publications that complement the classroom goals of educators in a safe and creative environment.

Capitol Letters Writing Center, Inc. is a new nonprofit corporation formed in the District of Columbia, and we have filed our application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the IRS.

New Orientation Date Scheduled

The first big volunteer orientation has been rescheduled for Tuesday, September 9. Please RSVP by emailing our Volunteer Director if you're planning to come. Here are the details again:

When: Tuesday, September 9 at 5:00 p.m.
Where: 1519 Connecticut Ave NW, Suite 200
Above Kramerbooks, close to the north exit of the Dupont Circle Metro
Why: Learn how you can help with workshops or tutoring this fall
What's required: A photocopy of a valid driver's license and proof of a negative tuberculosis test (for a quick, easy TB test, visit the Washington Travel Clinic)

Remember to email our lovely Volunteer Director if you'd like to join us. First come, first served.

Join us after the orientation for happy hour at Science Club (1136 19th Street NW), and get to know the CLWC crew and volunteers!

Capitol Letters is seeking an intern to help us with our fall programming. For all the details, click here.

This is a unique opportunity for a college student who is looking for real-world experience both in classrooms and with a budding nonprofit organization. Applications are due August 29.

Are you passionate about our mission? Do you have solid experience working in fundraising, development, and/or PR? Are you a creative person who works well with a close-knit team?

If your answer to those questions is yes, you may be interested applying for the position of Director of Development! For details, click here.
